So are these from TJ's eggs?
Hi yes,

These are from a Trader Joe's location in LA area. My local TJ eggs have not been viable during my last two hatching attempts so Carrie sourced some for me.

My neighbor is socializing them for me (she has young children) and I travel a lot for work these days. She says all the chicks are doing great!

how many hatched?
If I can remember correctly.
42 eggs went in.
11 hatched
15 were fully developed but did not hatch (I think low humidity & high temps, as I was not home to check on them and the water dried up)
6 or so were in various stages of development when they gave up
but just a few were unfertilized.

I'm happy as I'm only keeping 5-6 so I will still need to re-home a few of them. I'm sure I've got a few roos in there.

That's great! Do you know what breed they are? We have a TJ in Chico. I am up the hill about 8 miles from there, but go there about once a week or so to run errands. I would have to make it my last stop of the day. Does anyone know about the fertility of the eggs at the that store? We also have S&W Natural Foods that may carry fertile eggs.

My first batch of TJ eggs were hyline productuon leghorns. This batch looks to be California whites as the chicks had random black feathers. Im sure it just depends on what the farm is using. I like high production (low feed/high egg output) chickens so they work out excellent for me, others like a more "friendly" bird so it just depends on your needs.

The eggs I'm gonna try to hatch from trader joes were packed on day 073 and I'm putting them in the bator on 078 and they were removed from the fridge on 077. Do you think they were in the fridge too long?

Here are some babies from my TJ hatch. I will get som recent pics later today. They are 5 weeks
