I'm new, so clarify this post for me: are you saying that you take the eggs you buy in a carton at TJ's and place them in an incubator and they actually hatch???

Yes! Different folks have different results and you want to look for eggs as fresh as possible. But they don't have to be from TJ's. I bought Rock Island Fertile eggs at SaveMart and they are hatching as we speak. They were already 15 days old when I set them.

My five are a week old now. Their wing feathers don't look white; more like a very light beige or cream color.

They've been free ranging with mom since Monday when they were only a couple days old. They are having so much more fun than the six I got last year from MPC that stayed in a brooder for 5 weeks.

Even my Cornish X chicks have cream colored wing feathers. I treid giving thse guys to one of my broodies, but I don't think she has been broody long enough. I had to take them away from her.

Oh ok, I had to look up Cornish Cross to see what you meant. So even though the first feathers are cream, the adult bird can still end up white?
