I guess at this point I can ask how the hatch went.

Sorry, I processed mine soon after they started crowing.Has anyone grown out and used their TJ roos for breeding? I have mine over EE hens, but he has turned into a very obnoxious rooster. He crows nonstop and is starting to attack people. I really want to cross him with my young olive egger pullet for fertile eggs but I don't know if I can stand him that long. Anyone else have experience with these boys? My boy is living on barrowed time.![]()
Yes, Whole Foods sells fertile eggs in Davis California. I hatched a bunch of them for the NYD Hatch a long.I am looking to do this for the Easter hatch a long. I am hoping to possibly get quail eggs. Anybody seen quail eggs at TJ?
Also on whole foods' website they have info about what the stuff means on the egg cartons (organic, cage free, etc.) and one of the terms that was on the website was "fertile". They explained it as a flock with hens and Roos. If it's a term explained on their website... they must sell fertile eggs!
Here's the page on their website http://m.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/food-guides/eggs
O.K. Looks like I have 17 out of 48 eggs that looked good when I candled them. I accidentally cracked one of the 48 but that still leaves 30 bad eggs. Normally that would seem pretty dismal but these are eggs from the grocery store and I did transport them all the way from Tucson, AZ to Chattanooga, TN both flying and driving. Anyhow, at least it wasn't a total bust like last time. I made sure not to X-Ray the eggs at the airport. One thing I love about these white eggs is how easy it is to candle them.
