Thanks! I let them get to room temperature before putting them in the incubator, I'll update in a few days if they start developing or not. I have no clue what breed they could be. I've never seen brown eggs this big, they barely squeeze into the egg carton. They're a light-medium brown color, some with light speckling. If they're fertile & the refridgeration didn't kill them then I'd say they'll hatch pretty good being only 4 days old.

They come from a farm in the bay area (20-30 miles?) apparently, according to the box. I dont see anything yet from candling, but im giving it a few more days, though Im having a bad feeling about it lol. The expiration date was june 20, so they were at least 14 days old.

I wondered the same thing.... I didn't see anything on the box that said so, but sometimes "Free Range" eggs have a rooster in the flock. To find out would be an experiment. Buy a dozen and crack one.... If there's the embryonic bullseye vs. the infertile white dot, you'll know.

yay 4/8 safeway eggs set show blood veins/development! so excited

It's day 8 for my eggs & atleast 8 of them are still developing! There's a couple that are really dark that I can't tell if they're still developing or not but I am sure that all 12 of them have "something" in them, a couple might be blood rings though. Oooh I'm so excited! I'm going to call the farm that provides the market's eggs & see what breed they are...woohoo!
