Grats Im very excited for you. Its cool to see if a dawar will woke lol. Just dont candle them all the time, they could get chilled, or you could drop them or they could get infected with bactiera ect. wait till day 10 now then day 18 if you can , the less you mess with them except to turn them the better usually.

I have them in a cooler incubator with a fan, TimothyLee is trying a drawer :) I checked each egg and saw veins except in one which looks like the others did yesterday... wonder if it's just slower or a dud? But I'll wait to see :D

BTW, is your cat a Main Coon? It's HUGE looking :D I want one so badly!

I guess it's because these eggs are my very first attempt to incubate, but last night I woke up in a sweat (well that part was probably 'cause it's so hot, LOL) as I was dreaming that I had soft boiled my eggs in the incubator, LOL. After I checked on them (they were fine) I woke up this morning to a dream where the kids had taken them out to play with them and they were stone cold! ROFL

I think I'm taking all this a bit TOO seriously!!!

I love talking about my cat . He was a kitten someone found in the bushes with some road rash looing stuff on his head we think someone threw him out of a car . I have no idea what breed he is He is HUGE my son was six and that picture lol. I love main coons as well one of my all time favorit breeds .

He's AWESOME! Our cat is a pound kitty who isn't very big, but he thinks he is ;P Love your cat, and kids are always adorable in my book ;P

He does look like a main coon, even has tuffs on his ears it seems, certainly could be partly MC :D

This is crazy I have never heard of hatching out Trader Joe's chicks. I guess I just assumed that the eggs would be too old or refrigerated for too long.

I thought it was such a nifty experiment to try and was so gratified when Four eggs hatched. My TJ hens are laying machines and the rooster was gorgeous!

Pretty inexpensive experiment - all you're out is less than three bucks for the dozen and three weeks of nail-biting excitement.
:D

All I wanted was serama chickens but kept thinking what a pain it would be to have to crack open 50 eggs to get enough to make one pound cake, ROFL. When I saw this thread, I thought "oh good, cheap way to test my home made 'bator" but what to do with the chicks? Then it hit me, I certainly could keep the hens and REALLY get some eggs, enough possibly to share with my mom and sister?? LOL. I just have to make a second coop. My serama coop and run is big enough to hang out in so I can play with them as pets, the leghorn pen will be short and functional. But I think it will work out really well!

7 still viable, I think the 8th is definitely a dud (other 4 were eaten, LOL)
