Traffic School - Ticket In One State - Live In Another

Did you get notification in the mail yet? Nevada is notorious for doing that!!! I cant wait for the bullet train to Vegas! You should be able to do traffic school here in CA, because that is your permanent residence. BUT, you will have to pay the ticket AND the traffic school fee, PLUS a processing charge. Don;t ask me how I know.

Up here you just pay.......

You can go in to the clerks office and ask them to reduce the fine if your record is clean, but that is usually only a 10-20 reduction on a 80-100 ticket.

When I worked for an insurance agent, the companies usually did not make a change for one infraction. And, they only checked your driving record periodically, but that was about 20 years ago.

I just had a speeding ticket, I waited until I got it in the mail, then paid it as the mailed portion also includes the amount for traffic school, you pay both at once then they send you a list of schools. This was Placer county in CA though. Can you see if the county you got your ticket in has a website? Placer does and I could look up the ticket and see my options right online. I hope by paying it you didnt already pass up your chance for traffic school.

Good Luck!

Rob can't offer advice on this as I am obviously in the UK.... however due to the variation in the speed zones and the traffic at your rear, I would fight this ticket/fine.......... go for it kiddo! ... if you dont fight back you will never know if your are right.. nothig ventured nothing gained, and to me it is just a scam to get more money out of the public..... too many speed zones in a sort space... and there you plead your case.

Well, you said you paid already.

I think you should have contested it and/or mitigated it. If you had a lawyer, you could probably get off completely, based upon loopholes in whether or not the radar is an accurate judgement of speed. Once you pay, though . . . I don't know if you get that option any more. I also don't know Nevada law.

Do not know if it will/would help you now (ticket paid) but there is a law firm who will answer questions for free. Used them when DH got a ticket in CA (traveling from NV to WA), we had many questions and they were very helpful and again it was free.

They are in NV and CA - Laub and Laub (laubandlaub.com).

That construction on 80 is a nightmare! With everything squished down it can be very hard to see the current speed limit for the area you are in.

Ack! Cover those clay/lead feet, I don't want to know!
