That's such a sad story... but i gotta agree with you guys, the poor father's just lost his whole family, and it's not like he wasn't making an effort to take care of the chicks.
 
I think they did the right thing. Sad about the female.

The male needs to find a new mate and try again, maybe next year.

Baby eaglets are not able to keep themselves warm, and they are about as high up the food chain as baby chickens.
Almost no chance for survival without 2 healthy parents.

But there was a cam on them.. So they could have watched them.. I dont know, Im researching to see if I can find something.. The like above, linked to the news story, but had been deleated..

I wish they had waited and saw how the dad did. This would have been a great opportunity to see if something happens to one parent if the other could raise the babies by themselves. I would have only stepped in and removed the one that might have died that way dad could have still raised the other 2 I think as humans we step in to quickly and think we know best when we should just step back and let nature work.
