Trained my now slightly aggressive rooster

I appreciate everyone sharing their stories. I've learned a lot that's for sure. My rooster will live another day as the weather is getting warmer and I can start locking him out when I go in the coop. They have a nice big fenced in yard so I don't have to have contact with him too often, however I do know that deep down he is destined for the freezer. He's gotten too big for his britches and as I think I also read on here, there are plenty of free friendly roosters out there in need of a job!

Now, how to hide a goat from DH...

Well, DH knew when I left that I was going to bring 2 back but the real kicker was when he opened the back of the car and 3 little faces were staring back :D

When I was young, my uncle gave me a runt newborn pig. I took it home, bottlefed it, and hid it in my toy chest for three days. Well, my mother found it and it disappeared while I was at school one day. She was vacuuming my carpet in my room and heard it squeelling from my toy chest!

We must think alike! I don't usually get an animal spontaneously, but it shocked my husband when I came home with 6 chicks last spring. We had to scramble to build a coop. He must not have been upset because he did most of the work.

I wanted goats first, but he never would respond to that and I was scared that maybe I couldn't care for them, so I got something small first.

How difficult are dairy goats to raise?

My feed store guy says there is no better motivation to get a coop built than having the chicks in house....

I need new coops, so I thought his reasoning sounded great!! I subsequently ordered 6 chicks and 2 duckies......
