Transferring chicks to the coop.

I am new to chickens and putting the finishing touches on our coop. I'm curious what is the best way to transfer them to the coop. They are not using a heat lamp in the brooder anymore and they go outside during the day. I've read some place I should lock them in the coop for a day or two before giving them the run of the coop and run. Is this true or did I misread something? We do not have any existing hens to contend with.

You can just let them into the coop. If they seem really freaked out by the new surroundings tidbits you can shut them in the coop for a day

You can add them in there,maybe teach them where to roost,and the feeding,and watering area,but other then that they should be good.
