Trashy dogs!

...his dogs on the other hand will unfortunately get what is coming to them. If they show up in my yard again and I in any way feel threatened, they will not be leaving my yard under their own power again...

Ted Harrell, you have posted that you are going to do harm to the neighbors dogs. I am sure it is against the law. Some states it is a felony. I sure hope you do not follow through with this threat and if you do I hope you get what is coming to you........

ZoomuKeeper, in many states it is legal to kill dogs that are attacking or harassing livestock. I think defending one's self from a dangerous dog is legal everywhere (although I haven't looked that up). Ted_Harrell's words could also be taken to mean "capture the dog and hand over to animal control," which would also be legal.

It is often not legal to deliberately injure a dog, shoot it with paintballs, throw rocks, and similar actions--those would be considered cruelty to animals. So killing a dog is more

Yes you can defend yourself against animals and people if you feel your life is in danger. Problem is that is not what he was stating. He needs to confront the owners of the animals. It is possible the like he said the neighbors have no idea their dogs did this. If the neighbors do nothing then he needs to go over their heads. There are

That was not the post I was replying to. He said the dogs will get what is coming to them. Yes if you feel threatened you can protect yourself and your family by what ever means you must take. but word your sentences correctly before you start throwing out threats that could get you in trouble.

Can we be fair and say there are many large, strong breeds that may also have instinctual impulses?
I agree... To simply pick out a pit and say they're are all like that is not correct. I've owned several and none attacked people or animals. If an animal is correctly trained, usually odds are it won't act that way. People don't put time or effort into their pits then blame the dog, when they should blame themselves because they failed the dog. Training requires time, money, and a professional.

We can all only hope he calmly goes to the neighbors that are responsible for this and lets them know what their dogs did. Hopefully them being the good neighbors that we all hope will contain the dogs and offer to help with the new coup either monetary or labor. I know some cannot afford to put out money but at least offer to help rebuild what their animals destroyed.
