You need to start making decisions and choices that are not within
your experience to change. There are familys that never drink, take
drugs, and have so much death and destruction going on. What has
happened IS a nightmare, but use this as an opportunity to change.
Don't saddle yourself with dependents, boyfriends or pets until you
have stablilized yourself. It takes a while to get used to living differently
but you will never look back with regrets if you keep your expectations
high. Most of us would be afraid to move on alone, but once you do and
live on your own for awhile you realize it is kind of nice being able to decide
how your money is spent, and getting to make every single decision about
how the household runs. First get a job and make it your top priority and
commit to it. Let your job define you for a while not your life.

There is a Goodwill in Eugene, which is about the only option for a person like me so I hope I get a job there.

I have cerebral palsy & fetal alcohol spectrum, thats why I cant find any other job. I'm not a lazy blob................(Ok so somedays I am!)

That's horrifying! I am SO sorry for what you are going through and I'm happy you're taking appropriate measures to protect yourself. I hope you can find a foster home for any other pets you have until you find a stable home. You may consider contacting a rescue.

I am. I have a spoiled 6 year old tortoise who loves to cuddle & enjoys hand-feeding. His name is Zeus. He's a Red Footed Tortoise. I have a buddy who is willing to take him in but is not willing to spoil the heck out of him the way I do. And Zeus is VERY stubborn

If the tortoise can find transport to Utah, I know several people there who would be willing to take him and continue to spoil him rotten.
