Treating Yourself To Something Special

Quote:
Happy birthday to both of you! I just had one on the 28th Oct. and for the first time in a long time I went out and bought myself a gift, a beautiful 14 carrot gold ring with a garnet ....thickish band with tiny diamonds under the garnet. So, so pretty. Just waiting for them to enlarge it to my size. Such luxury!

Guess I'll have to wear it after chicken work and visits, I've got a feeling that they'll try to eat the red stone.

Well then, happy late birthday to you! And congrats on treating yourself to a beautiful ring. I'm sure you deserve it.

Thanks LauraJean!

You're welcome, and might I just observe that this is the least controversial thread of mine yet!

Well, about every three months DH makes sure I treat myself to something.

We both try to treat ourselves. Sometimes it is just me, sometimes both of us get something. It may be only eating at a nice restaurant or it may be something we want... like a new scope (him yesterday;) )

I got new sleepshirts last night for $1 each and a nice pair of shorts for next year.

I absolutely hate walmart

but needed a prescription that only they had in stock to fill. Lady in pharmacy was telling me about the $1 clearance racks of sleepshirts and summer clothes.

DH will not count anything needed such as clothes as a "treat"

So my treat is: a lavender silkie roo, a blue silkie hen, and a few other silkies I got last week. And silkie eggs ordered from a BYCer that will be here tomorrow or Friday

I recently (friday) treated myself to 3 new coloring books.

Yes, I realize 47 is a bit old for coloring books. However I find it to be very relaxing and it keeps me from killing the teenagers. Also nobody and I do mean NOBODY is allowed to use my colored pencils or crayons. I've always been jealous of people who can draw and this is the closest I can get.

DH sensing my frame of mind on Friday - came home from work Saturday with a full pound of munsons dark orange creams.

Can't describe how much I love that man!!!!!

are you my long lost soul sister? I am 41 and still have/buy coloring books. You should see my huge glass jar of crayons that never get used. I just love to look at them. I have others I use

One time last year my "treat" was a set of Prismacolor pencils.

I have Crayola too. DD knew from time she could hold a crayon that she had hers and I had mine. We would share sometimes

I 'doodle' and do not exactly draw. Well, not the way I wish I could. I have been working on teaching myself when I have a free day

ETA: and I haven't even sharpened the pencils yet! I keep saying I am going to, but never get around to it!

When I want to treat myself I like to go to a little local florist shop here where I live. They always have the prettiest things for your home. I went last week and found a precious cookie jar to use for the holidays that looks like a snowman. He's sitting on my table right now.
