I've heard quail can make interesting pets. I'd love to try it...but....Honestly don't need a bird running around pooping in my house....but they are cuties!

I also think some of the parrots are cool. My mother had one that was a jerk to us kids. Kind of soured me on house birds. It exemplified the term "Turd Bird".

Freezing rain/ice is the worst. That's what we usually get. Hope you guys don't get ice!

Sure am hoping for warmer weather today. Want to spend time outside. Garden chores & hen hugs....

Was just looking at the radar....looks like an icy night to be had across Missouri. Want to go to Ste. Gen next weekend but there is a decent chance for snow. But with the weatherman's 30% accuracy rate...who knows! We did get above freezing today. Sort of that annoying misty rain off & on. But did get a lot of stuff done outside.

Turkey's a great help....goobers. Followed me around sticking their beaks in the middle of everything I was doing. Haven't been out doing much the last month. Too dark & cold. They really enjoyed puttering around today.

Your Tom hides from the crow? And the snow...yeeks!
It's already in the mid 60's this morning. It will get warmer throughout the day....then....around midnight the bottom will drop out and we are expecting ice/sleet/snow. And it won't get above freezing for several days. What the heck is going on?
Took the girls for a walk yesterday. They love nibbling their way through the neighborhood. Lots of folks out since the weather was so warm. Annie got to untie several pairs of tennis shoes while Daisy got mugged by the kids. Such funny birds....such social gadflies.

Well it was 67 today....dropping around midnight with high wind, freezing rain & sleet, then snow. It's the ice that scares me. Last time we had a big ice storm I was without power for 3 weeks.
My turkey girls wattles are getting REALLY red! Hoping for eggs soon. Our temps are going below freezing again for this upcoming week. Wonder if that will affect them starting to lay....
