You could try contacting the breeder if you like her line. I never breed a ***** before she's two. Two is the earliest age you can do an OFA on hips & elbows. So I want all health tests done before any breeding. By the time they are two, they are usually deep into a show/competition career. So I try to squeeze in that first litter before she's 4. The point being, if the ***** is going to have any "difficulties" having a litter, I want it to be when she's young and her chances of recovery are good. Just keep her age in mind.

Annie had a pretty "hard molt". She lost a lot of feathers at once. Since the new feathers are so dark it's easy to see the difference. Since Daisy is such a lapper I've been able to watch all the little pin feathers on her head & neck develop. Her little snoop is all fuzzy & white. She has a lot of tiny, tiny feathers on her face. Annie doesn't have those tiny feathers on her face. Since Daisy is a slate, I've noticed her black splashes are different this year. Guess that's one bennifit to her being in my lap a lot. I can sort through her feathers to see the new ones coming in. I'm enjoying these turkeys way too much!

Wow, the little peepers looks great!! Obviously your DH is doing a great job! I was hoping for an update! Hopefully that pic cheered you up after a rough day!

Go to the "Sponsored Content, Contests, & Giveaways " thread. They ask for submissions. Then the most voted for pic becomes the picture used for the caption contest. We need 5o flood them with turkey pics. Then we all need to vote for our turkey pics!!

Morning all. Been quiet here!

Got home in time to take the flock for a stroll. Saw the mailman coming so I wandered out front to wait for him. He's turned into a turkey fan. Stops to pet Daisy. He gets a kick out of them. Chickens not so much....says he prefers them fried.

Anybody win Poweball? I bought one ticket. I got the Powerball twice. I think I won 8 bucks. Someone about 15 miles north of Memphis did hit all the numbers. Cool!

Yeah right! I was thinking the same thing Ralph! So R2elk....let me get this straight. You had a fat Tom running free for over three years eating Russian olives. ( What the heck is a Russian olive?) So fatso survived all that time without getting taken out by a predator or any free lunches? How did you even catch him? And his layer of fat....do you have to remove that before cooking? I've never heard anyone mention layers of turkey fat before. I'm assuming it's not a common thing.
