JR...what amazes me is how many of us would choose our turkeys over our chickens, if forbid, we had too. They are so engaging.

So last evening i took the girls for a walk around to the front yard. First time I've done that since i broke my arm. Boy were they doing the happy chirp! Had two sets of joggers stop to talk to the girls....said they missed seeing them. Sad, but they are more popular than me. There was a quick acknowledgement of my injury, followed by 5 minutes of fussing over the girls. I'm hoping this doesn't go to their heads...

My hen ate a good breakfast and supervised water refill. I don't know what was wrong but she seems fine now. No snakes yet and no turkey hunt last night. Things are looking up!

My sister just called from St. Louis. They are having monster storms. She has large trees down & no power. Feedman may have caught some of this weather.

Tossed my broody Australorp off the nest. After running around complaining, she found something to eat in the grass. Annie, standing nearby, craned her neck over to see what she was doing. The broody flew at her full force. Poor Annie, i think it hurt her feelings.

Daisy is molting chest feathers. She looks ratty. But Annie, however, looks great. She takes good care of her feathers. Wings and tail look pristine compared to poor Daisy who has no regard for her feathers!
