So, any thoughts on my molters? Other than we aren't having a summer and going directly into winter??

Raining & in low 50's. Not pretty!

Let girls out before the rain. They were flapping & yapping. Blossom was eating something. I was sitting on a bench. Decided to call her over. Working on my theory about her being so vocal. So I called her. Dam bird walked over & started yapping. Grabbed her & set her on the bench next to me. Petted her head, gave her a shoulder rub. She fell asleep....hanging head & all. She's just a big baby looking for attention. Marigold, not to be left out, flew into my lap. About knocked me out with her wings....again! Daisy noticed & came to pull her tail. Marigold got down, Daisy hopped up. Daisy is a jealous girl! But at least she knows how to hop in my lap without injuring me.

Fred....wish you could see what sweet big babies the girls turned into. If you're ever in the area...
They actually surprised me with how friendly they've become. Still working on desensitizing them to grazing out front. There are a lot of things that worry them. But I think they are starting to catch on. They keep an eye on their fearless leader, Daisy. Nothing seems to bother that bird. Dogs, people, cars....she doesn't care. She'll even go for a golf cart ride. So maybe the young birds will figure it out. I will say....Daisy keeps an eye on the sky. If she sees something, she has a high pitch whine. If close enough she'll go stand on the porch. Or stand by me.

I love Pearl giving you heck! What a sweetie.

Jerry...I don't mind cats. Just don't need another mouth to feed. And it complicates things with the dogs. Glad you fed it. Poor thing.

R2elk....you are a wise man. I know my hens are large & in charge. Like Pearl, I hear about it if they want something or aren't happy! Entitled wenches.

Came out the backdoor yesterday to put them to bed. They were way in the back....but heard the door & came running. I just love that. All kinds of yapping & flapping. Had to sit & listen to them tell me about their day. They are great for stress relief. Had a long day of problems on this project...but all the stress disappears when the girls come running looking for attention.
