Tried and True Recipes

I'm making the chinese chicken spareribs tomorrow with bone-in chicken thighs...
I have to use a crockpot because i'm cooking for 2 families...and dont have a fry pan large enough to fit all the thighs...
Wish me luck... i hope they glaze okay..

Maybe i can broil them quick at the end??

When I do it in the crockpot...after the meat is cooked and tender...turn the pot off and remove some of the cooking liquid from the pot. Then thicken it with some cornstarch then add it back to the pot. Stir it into the hot liquid and it will glaze the chicken.

I started making homemade tortillas a few years ago and I have not been able to bring store bought tortillas in the house since! LOL! Since there are 13 of us, I make big batches on 'kitchen day' and freeze them.

I thought I had a lot of mouths to feed when my oldest got married and they moved in with us for a year to save up the money for a down payment on a house. There were 7 of us then......you must be cooking all the time.

I know what you mean, my group doesn't like store bread or tortillas. I spoiled them badly.....

This would also be VERY good for partys... I'd do it with chicken wings in a crockpot.
Anyways... very good!

I am cooking all. the. time. I love it though, and I know I will have a hard time when it's just me and hubby again. But, I imagine there will be grandkids!
