I must disagree. I wouldn't if I hadn't witnessed it first hand.
That egg isn't bad, isn't further along it is just blue.
Blue eggs most certainly are more difficult to see into, they present as solid from day 1 until hatch unless the egg is unusually porous.

You are probably correct then. My experience is with duck eggs not chicken. Some of my duck eggs are slightly blueish and they candle the same as the others. . but again. . that's a duck egg.

The egg in question is Blue Isbar. So far nothing smells bad, no leaks.

One of the O Shamo eggs has a small fracture. I can't feel it or see it in regular light, but it lights up when candling. I'm wondering if this should be removed or if I should just keep a close eye on it.

I don’t have any blue layers yet, but have incubated a few this year and will absolutely agree... some of the blue eggs are crazy hard to see into. The absolute worst are certain Olive eggs.

Did you candle that dark egg before the photo and what did you see? Also, can you candle it from the other end? Lastly, the incubator candle light is sort of a gimmick and has a lot of light bleeding out on a white surface which will completely hamper your view. You’ll get better from a flashlight and you’ll be AMAZED with what you will see with a 15.00 candler from Amazon.

On the crack, if you want to keep it I would do something. I’ve seen people use liquid bandaid and I’ve seen a lot of success with candle wax. I have not personally tried either but have tried to do nothing as it seemed a surface crack .... and always lost the embryo in the final week to bacteria.

I have that same incubator and ya, that candler will knock your eyes out when you turn it on. But it's actually almost too much. My favorite thing to use is just one of these little led key chain flashlights. . .except I always lay them down somewhere and lose them.

I do have one dark olive egg. Only thing I can say about it is it's slightly darker on one side.

Did you candle that dark egg before the photo and what did you see? Also, can you candle it from the other end? I would smell that egg daily, even just stick your nose up to the vent of the incubator until you get a better candler. While I agree blue eggs can be hard, I honestly don't feel like that looks exactly right ultimately.... but will be SUPER interested to follow along when you get another candler made. Also, if you could see into that egg during candling, at this stage, it really shouldn't all of a sudden be that dark. It's very interesting....

Okay...
The opaque blue egg started seeping liquid overt night. I can't see a crack and have not cracked it open yet, but it's tacky to the touch. When I get a chance to open it I'll post pictures of what's in there.
