It happens sometimes, and usually it's not something to be really concerned about. The calcium should help. Have you tried feeding back crushed egg shells? I do it with my flock, they love it!

no I haven't tried giving them their egg shells but I usually put them in my little processor grind them up into powder and then put them in my garden. I didn't know you could crush them and give them to the chickens. so I'll try that in the morning I have some dried ones that I haven't turned into powder yet. I wonder if you I could use the shell powder in the food and just sprinkle it in my food containers
