There is a smell though not very strong so maybe just the dried blood? As to how does it feel, that hard to describe. Kinda leathery (ish) it is bloody.

Hmmm....how is the chick acting, standing, peeping? Does it look around at it?

I'd probably put raw honey on, separate from other chicks - just block off a small area or something - and see what happens. I don't know what all can be done for a chick. :/
