Ah. Then go ahead I just didn't want you to be disappointed. My brother in laws parents had red sex links and their eggs were darker than my cuckoos.

I've read CM don't lay as dark of eggs as other varieties such as the FBCM. I guess because they are a newer color, from lighter egg laying lines? True?

Well, CM is bigger. And that's a small coop - the reason I tried to go with smaller breeds. :/

You could get another sex link in there instead of a more sensitive Leghorn. I know you want the CM though.

What's the size difference between yours? I don't have experience with those breeds in the USA.
