Yeah, I wonder if there will be a lot of blues instead of black.

Yes, Big Mama has a very small crest, Lord farquack (original Pekin drake) does too and then there is Princess Leia. My Mallard and Blue Swede drakes have crests too. The black Swede did not so I'm hoping the ducklings I got while he was here won't carry it.

Oh and my Pekin duckling has one.

PL

Lol. Good luck

Should be interesting!

Ok, cool! PL lives up to her name with that crest.

The kits are a week old today.

One of Granny's kits, they're all about this size.

One of Angelica's kits, the biggest one. It's not as big as Granny's are, Angelica is mostly Flemish, Granny is pure New Zealand. They were bred to the same buck.

And of course I couldn't not get a pic of all of them.

I really like Angelica's biggest kits coloring! It's pretty!

Yeah.

:) Indeed. I'm not fond of crests though, especially on my females.

Yeah! I like them all! Not exactly what I was expecting out of a white buck. (Though I guess he would carry black since he's half Californian.)

Yeah.

Crests are kinda cool looking, but I'd definitely rather not have them. I have a few crested chickens, but they have small crests, CL type. They don't come in until the bird is a few months old.

They're a very pretty batch! Cool! I really hope we find some buns soon...apparently they're very hard to find around here.

Yeah. I'm trying to breed them out, just keeping the crestless ones and hoping they don't carry it. Is it the same for chickens? I was under the impression that chickens didn't the same problems.

Yeah! Good luck! :fl

I've heard that Polish and Silkie type crests can cause neuro problems (some have vaulted skulls) but the CL type crest mine have don't make a difference. So I like that!

Thanks!! Apparently when I got my rabbits almost four years ago it was one of the only times they sell them!

Huh. Didn't know that. I read it wasn't the same. :hu Lucky you.

I hate when what you want is always there when you don't want/need and then as soon as you want/need it you can't find it.

It's not, most of the time. It just can cause vaulted skulls in extreme cases - or so I've read.

IKR!!
