I clipped the ducks' wings this morning. They were so pretty!

Squirmy the jerk's wings weren't totally in. He's feathering in very slow. -_-

Yup, in a chicken tractor twenty something feet long and six feet wide. For quarantine.

I don't think much of quarantine, unless a chicken is obviously sick or is really important...but it's good for safety measures.

She'd probably do better with company. Be happier. Maybe put one of those BO cockerels in there? I guess you might not want to risk it though.

How old are they? Mine are completely feathered by 3 months.

I don't remember...older than three months though. The males were much slower to feather than the female, and Squirmy was the slowest of all.

Only reason she's in quarantine is because she came from a chicken house, she might not be sick but she may carry something for a little while. I don't think she's sick or anything, she keeps her self too clean and tidy for that.

Hmm, well my sister and mom aren't inclined to keep the BOs since they're roosters anyway. I may talk to my sister about it, see what she thinks. Happier Ophelia means eggs sooner. And if she's already in with a roo...... Probably would enjoy the company though, going from a house full of 30,000 sisters to just your self would be lonely.

They're over four months old. We got them in mid April and they were over a month old then.

Wow that's a long time. I think my uncles usually feather after then that. He's got a 2 month (maybe younger) that's already half feathered.
