Hello!

I have four pekin ducks 2 male 2 female. The 2 males are 8 weeks older than the females (males 22 weeks & females 15 weeks) one of my males started trying to mate with one of my females and succeeded and she ended up allowing him with no fight. The other male and female were not trying to mate whatsoever for awhile. Recently male #2 has started trying to mate with female #2 However he is always unsuccessful and she continuesly runs from him around while he keeps on her neck. She now has a bald patch on the back of her neck. I’ve no seen him go tothe back of her neck and feathers and not trying to jump on her. I have no separated the two females and two males. Is this something that could eventually stop or will they always have to be separated? Thank you!

You don't have enough females for the number of males you've got (10 girls would be a LOW number to keep if you're set on keeping your two boys) and no, its only going to get worse, not stop.

You can get rid of (rehome or butcher) a boy and get at least two more girls
You can get a LOT more girls
You can get rid of both boys and keep just the two or get more girls
You can get rid of both girls and keep just the two or get more boys

Your immediate need is to separate the girls from the boys so the boys stop picking on them, and your long-term solution should be something you do ASAP

If you go the much-bigger-flock route and choose to up your number of girls, you'll want to look for same age or older sexed girls that can hold their weight against the boys, dont try to raise 10 more baby ducklings, they'll take too long to get big enough to integrate with the other 4 and you might accidentally wind up with a lot more boys which doesnt solve the problem
