TSC grumblings

I like TSC because they have things for cows in stock all the time where as all of our local owned stores seem to be more horse friendly than geared toward bovine! That's how I started buying from them instead of the locally owned feed stores!

I don't shop at TSC much during chick days. Their chicks seem to be in much worse shape than those at Orschlen's (which is much like TSC) Their chicks appear generally healthy- and I've yet to see dead or dying babies in their bins. Plus they seem to always have fresh food and water. I walked by the "assorted duck" bins, and was hardpressed not to run home and make a duck pen

They had baby cresteds in there...

This is the sort of thing that happens when a given type of animal evolves from livestock to pets.

Yup, it is one of the problems I have with my DW, she fusses anytime I need to cull. Wants to bring home every stray she sees, it took me years to get though to her it was not our place to feed every dumped animal on the road. Though it may be hard but for some people's own well being they need to learn to keep certain aspects of life in perspective.

tell me more what you mean?

This is my suggestion to the OP. Next time you see an ailing chick at the farm store, do what I do. Say to the clerk, "There is a sick chick in the bin. It will probably die. Can I take it for free and try to save it?" That way you are part of the solution.

I just talked to my friend, and she said TSC was getting ready for chicks. She said they have bedding, food/water and the heat lamps already!!! So they must be getting chicks pretty soon. But she said they just have rabbits right now.

Aside from the fact that I never want hatchery stock again, I would never buy from TSC. They lie to their customers in order to take personal information if you buy chicks, the chicks are out where little kids can squeeze and damage them, where disease can spread by just anyone touching them, etc. No way would I buy chicks from that place. Or feed, for that matter.

TSC Here just returned to selling chicks and they already have decided if they receive complaints they will just stop - The Business Survived very not carrying chicks so they aren't worried about it- It is profit and loss they make enough that they can loose chicks and not worry about one or two . Speckled this is getting scarey but we agree not shopping there is the only way to send a message. I did last year get two ducks which have done very well and in true Shari form were both girls but I also think they present themselves as knowing something about the stock - 3 minutes into a conversation you can tell they know enough to get people to buy a bunch of expensive stuff they do not need - Who would ever buy chick grit or Oyster shell from them at 6.00 + a bag(2lbs) when you can go to Agway and get it for 52 cents a pound ?
