TSC strikes again!

I went in to look at a coop, never thought about them having chicks. I came home with 4 chicks and one baby duck. Two days later another local place posted about baby male and female needing a home because the people who ordered them couldn't take them, so I ended up with two more ducks.

And let me tell you the two ducks are the messiest creatures I have ever saw. They can clear a large waterer in no time. I had to put two in the brooder so the chicks had water. Came home to soaking wet bedding and the smelliest bathroom ever..lol

Ok the peeping got me yall... Only went in for feed and came out with 4 fuzzy footed bantam babies.... Just in case my 1st hatch is a fail lol.

Looks to me like you got:
1 Mille Fluer D'Uccle
2 Blue Cochin bantams
1 Black Cochin bantam

Nice haul! :thumbsup:jumpy

I disagree I'm thinking those two look like light Brahma bantams. The other two I'm not sure about but the reddish one looks like it has a head spot. Would a mille Fleur d'uccle have a head spot?

The black chick I can't see very well but I'm guessing it's a Cochin but not sure.

Mille Fleurs do have a bit of head spots. I have 2 right now. I had 2 light brahma chicks before, albeit standards, and they were far more yellow than those ones. I see a lot of blue down on those chicks.

We had a porcelain d'uccle and I dont remember him having a head spot. Still it's nice to know. Thanks for that.

Well I could certainly be wrong about the other two but their feathering seems to be more like Brahma feathering on the legs to me. They're certainly a surprise. I've never had any blue cochins but I would think they'd have more blue on them and less white? I know when I have had blue or mauve chicks they are much more of the color they will be.

The closest they look to me is the white Rock and then the light Brahma chicks we've had before. I imagine it depends on the line/hatchery they came from.

Of course they can't be rocks with the feathered legs and feet.

I could be wrong, too. I'm sorry if I was being pushy with my views, I really am just going off the best of the knowledge that I have
For all I know, you could be right. Maybe the OP will update us in a few months and we can find out what they all are! :D

That would be cool! Watch we're both wrong and they're blue splash brahmas or something lol.

I was also trying to go off what my tractor supply generally gets in but they all get different things even from different hatcheries. It makes it difficult.

:) No worries let's face it we're all just learning.

I had a doctor tell me once they call it practicing medicine because you never stop learning and I think that's true of a lot of things. Especially chickens. Lol

My birds always surprise me. In what they hatch etc. I have a white sport mauve English Orpington hen. She's something lol. I also have a white sport legbar hen. Along with two unrelated legbar roosters and another hen.(I keep the two roosters so I can breed from both) last year's hatch gave me 2 pretty legbar girls, 1 ee/legbar mix(she was an oops- and is such a comical thing) I also got one red legbar girl that I find something else entirely. She lays a stunning blue egg and is quite the looker but is very red in her coloring. (Odd since my Legbars are all correct cream coloration, the roo I used for that breeding is a bit colorful though.)

The predators also surprise me. I just saw a thread where someone mentioned a possum killing a bird of theirs. We've had it happen ourselves but often peoeop think I'm nuts and I've never known another person that experienced that.

Sorry for getting off topic. Anyway no hard feelings I didn't mean anything by it either. I would love to know how they turn out and see individual chick pictures as well.

Oh! I love bantams!! Good luck with them! And I know how TSC works...or in my case this year..Shiptons Big R. It was the first time it caught me! And I was so prepared NOT to get any! Well, I firmly believe in everything happens for a reason so it was meant to be.:)
