Can you go on my blog and tell me if you think Mathilda my Australorp is a hen or a roo. I just can't tell.

how old is she? Just my opinion but I would lean toward pullet based on lack of comb. That is based on my guess of age about 6 or 7 weeks. I am not familiar with the breed so I don't know how they grow out but I know they are similar to orpingtons.

Hmm.. i think your Aussie is a hen. Lack of comb. Is she any bigger than the others? My Aussie is a big bird but little roos get bigger faster that little hens. I love your blog, your kids are darling and I knit too!

Looks like a girl to me, but I am definitely not an expert. How old is she?

Hi there everyone! We live just off Brookside and our 4 ladies hatched February 13th. We named them after the Golden Girls: Rose, Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia. They are 8 weeks old on Saturday and we are finishing their coop just in time! Phew! Thought I would share a picture of our girls new house.
