Turken breeding

If you are looking to get some interesting feather colored Naked Neck's, crossing them with a breed that has some lacing or something like that turn's out pretty cool looking.

My NN roo will be crossing with EEs, slw, and barred rock. As well as other NN hens.
This spring I’ll be adding gl polish and sl polish. Both I hope to cross with my roo.
Please do share pictures of any crosses you have!

I just did share a picture. You can see how some of the lacing showed up in my rooster that I hatched from a cross that I had named Roger.

Turken lines run thick in my experience. Lots of fun to just have a roo or two in the mix and watch them hatch out with different colors and such.

I don't have any Turkens, but I'd love to get some someday! Beautiful flock! :love:love

Want to throw in some Ameruacanas or even some EEs? They might give you some muffs and green eggs. Also, a Top Hat breed like Polish or even a feathered legged breed like Brahma. Those would all throw in some interesting characteristics. :)
I have a hen that was going to develop feathered feet but guess it did not fully develop you can see some tiny feather in her feet

I have a NN hen, actually she's mixed with a Cochin, but looks like a beautiful NN. Since they have bare necks, will roosters of other breeds instinctively grab the NN's neck skin or the feathers on their head? I have a rooster that I'd love to breed with my "Victoria" , but I don't want her neck ripped open. She was trying to gain some status in pecking order by taking on the top Silkie hen and lost. The silkie hen ripped Victoria's neck open. It's all healed up now but that's been at the front of my mind anytime I think about breeding her. Maybe this is a dumb question and if so, my apologies ☺️

Mine tend to grab the neck feathers, but my rougher, ruder Males often just grab whatever is closest
