Turken Naken Necks (EW!)

Oh yeah, they're always getting them in bantam assortments at the local TSCs. I'm guessing the bantam NNs are about that size? Very similar in size to the OEGBs, then! That makes me even more excited to get my hands on some of them!

Actually mine were a tad smaller than the sebrights. Got 11, have one left from shipping (had standards in the same order since I assumed they'd be normal bantam size

I used to not like the look's of the Naked Neck's, but once I tried them out because of the desert heat that we get, I found out that they have nice personalities too. It also helped that the rooster was non human aggressive. Now, I would not have a flock that didn't have Naked Neck's in it.

@JaeG I have a hatch of them that's due this Friday, and if I could I would share some of my egg's with you. They are from my Naked Neck hen's that lay the best egg's. Too bad you don't live near me.

Everyone has different tastes in thing's. Like they used to say "To each their own". I like them, and that's all that matter's to me.

Yeah. I know now to just order bantams with them so I'm getting more in summer hopefully

I know most people dislike them, and that doesn’t bother me. I think they are uniquely gorgeous. And do agree they have very nice personalities. My girls are amazing. Sweet, dependable layers that handle the cold very well. My male had a rough winter, but the girls have nice small combs that are ideal for our cold temps.

We all have different ideas on what we find beautiful or ugly. And that’s great! Can you imagine just how plain and boring things would be if we all only liked a few things?

All of the Turken Naked Necks I've seen are ugly! Who else thinks this way? Why were they bred with no feathers on their necks? I think I heard because their easier to pluck that way... But just WHY? They are so ugly. If you care to object, please do so, but I feel like a lot of people will agree with me on this one. Even Showgirl chickens don't look good, contrary to their name.

There not all ugly let me show you mine. Shes gorgeous isn't she. Prettier than any chicken in the world not all turken are ugly.

I'm such a fan of naked necks! I joke with my boyfriend that they're the pugs of the chicken world haha so ugly they're cute.

My Roo is a NN and he's very friendly and all around a great rooster to his girls. He won't be winning any beauty pageants but he keeps his ladies happy! And he also did wonderful this winter and we reached -30C in February this year.

No I never seen mine get suburn. You seem my profile and my thread not all turken are ugly mine is gorgeous.
