i was looking in some hatchery catalogs and it listed turkens with chickens... so are they chickens? are they turkeys bred with chickens? if so is it for show? what is iit for?

Turkens (aka Naked Necks) are chickens. No turkey at all. They just have been bred to have bare necks, thus looking like a turkey.

They are a dual purpose breed, good egg layers and good meat. And any breed can be shown, as long as the bird is show quality and meets the Standard of Perfection (SOP) for that breed.
