Yes, they do but this year I wanted these boys to get big. Cause, errr, I like throwing my money away in feed.

I think a guy here on the island doesn't bring them in until late August as day olds.

I remember thinking "oh he's in for a surprise, those'll never grow...." Considering he's still in business, it worked out.

Mine breathed air at the end of May and have been breathing ever since. I haven't lost any to health problems, leg problems or natural deaths.

I only cook roasted turkey once a year.

You may cook it once, but you'll eat it at least 3 times.

For the next week I will hoarde the breast meat where they can't find it. I'll eat it more than 3 times. I promise you that!

Sourdough bread - 2 slices. 1 slathered in Duke's mayonnaise and the other in cream of horseradish.

Stack with slices of turkey breast.

Top with slices of left over jellied cranberry sauce.

Add ice cold crisp lettuce.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Now, we are talkin' about a sandwhich!

Those are some BIG turkeys! Lots of envy coming your direction. What a fun day together! The turkeys look like they will be fabulous!

I would really like to raise a few turkeys next year and this just encourages me that much more.

Your making me hungry!!!!! I plan on raising a few in the spring for turkey day. I just do not know how many to raise.

How do you find a roasting pan big enough??? my pan will only hold a 24 lb bird...you must have an eggnormus oven...LOL
