Turkey male or female?

I swear mine are both hens. I wish we could swap. Mine never do anything tommish.
I generally don't see Tom behaviors before that 4-5 month age. Those that displayed early often ended up aggressive for me, so I personally don't like to see that behavior.

Goodness, that was our fear, they would be mean as they follow us around and jump on us like puppies right now.Can you break a turkey out of aggression?

I have only had a couple of young toms that made me uncomfortable and they were butchered young. Most are friendly and follow you. My adult toms routinely display for me and will slowly follow me. I haven't had any luck changing their personality.

Those that made more uncomfortable would come up quickly behind me while my back was turned. I did not wait to see if it would escalate as I've always had extra toms in a batch and some needed to go anyways.

Watch and see. Most toms I have raised are fine, though I never over handle nor let them come up on me. It's just not something I like, though many owners allow turkeys to climb on them.

I bought mine in May.I’m not sure how old they were. Since I’ve never had turkeys I thought they looked pretty big but maybe they were just a couple weeks old. I will have have patience if that’s the case then they would only be around two months old probably less because I’m sure it was late May.
