ME bad-- I put another dozen BR in to warm up.

I think DH was happy I culled 5 roosters today-- he actually helped. As in offered to help. Sure made the processing go faster with 2 of us. Kids dropped them into the freezer and then raked up and dumped the feathers in compost. Nice job.

The disease runs its course for about 2-3 years, then reason sets in and you are able to choose a direction: pick 1-2 breeds and focus on them. LOL

is this just for turkeys or will my chicken and ducks get to one or two breeds in the bator...... Currently have Cayuga Duck eggs in the bator with Narragansett and Blue Slate Turkey eggs. We have Pekins and Rouens already. Then there are the Bantams that DH wants more of, because they are so cute. We also have Welsummer and Barred Rock chickens. BR may be going since we are not happy with them.

don't believe the lies!.. I've had that disease for over 50 years.. it never completely goes away!
Does it at least improve? Or do I just need to tell my husband to suck it up and deal cause it can get worse? He has a rabbit addiction. He wants to get more but I am out of cages, so he can't get more.

THere are exceptions!!! Some who don't shake the compulsion to hatch. lol

I kicked it for 5 years and now I am back to hatching. 48 eggs in the incubator since I was startled today while I had an egg in my hand and dropped it on the floor. 6 more go and I can use the automated turner.....

OH-- then you are well versed in how this aaddiction works-- you can fall off the wagon at any time!! lol

My viewpoint is that hatching them doesn't mean you have to keep them. If you just love hatching you sell most of them (in theory

). See, your making money that way to support the chickens you keep. Yeah!

I am awful bad... bought 4 BBB this morning well Sunday... Felt awful for my lonely BR poult, so lonely! Their names are Thanksgiving 1 and 2, Christmas and Don. He is DHs best bud, and always helps us process the birds. I always send some home with him for his family too!
