What do you think?
We were told our hen which we got from another farm, is a Narragansett/Bourbon Red x. The tom she was with previously was a Bronze. We have a Royal Palm. The eggs were collected 2-3weeks aftershe came her. It's not completely dry yet in this pic & I myself haven't seen it yet as I loaned the eggs to our schools ag class to hatch in their incubator. But does it look like the bronze is probably the dad and not our RP?

Since the hen is a crpss it's really hard to tell what color it will be. Birds with a palm pattern start out white as babies & start to get color on feather tips around 4-6 weeks old.

We got our RP as a 3 day old poult so I remember him being almost all white. I don't see any white on this one, so just wondering if it looks more likely to be out of the bronze tom

Can't say for sure. My slate/palm babies come out either black with a white face or blue with a brownish tinge. Those become mottled. With the hen being a cross herself there's no way to know what combination of genes she passed on. I would say let it feather in a bit & see what colors start to show.

Genes are so fascinating aren't they! I am so excited to see what they'll look like!

My big baby cage has some interesting birds. LOL poults hatched May 5.
