Turkey Talk for 2014

The rest of that hatch is already in the stack cage in the garage. This 1 stayed in with the smaller chicks because it was a bit smaller & weaker. It has obviously recovered & is ready to head to the garage. Ii was just trying to put off moving anyone until I got moved over the weekend.

By the way, I have a ton of chicks & a few poults for sale that I would love to part with before I have to move them. PM me for pricing. I can ship!

Slate poults

I have 2 turkeys hatched a day apart, yesterday & the day before. I have only had 2 other turkey poults(1 is the father) and they were wonderful! The older of the 2 is very "aggressive", like I have not seen in a poult or chick, it actually reminds me of a puppy! If you put your hand near it, it "bites". If you put it in the lawn, it "attacks" dandelions. I'm not concerned about me or the dandelions, but it's now doing it to the younger poult, who is not up to the same speed yet. I certainly can separate them, and probably will until the younger one gets stronger, but it would be nice for them to get along. Is this behavior normal?

I'm no expert, but a few months ago I had a hatch of chicks and one of 23 was just awful. I couldn't put my hand in the brooder to fill feed or touch the other chicks with him jumping on my hand and biting me. By 1 week old he was actually starting to hurt and was attacking anything that moved, including the other 22 babies. I sold them all except that 1. I decided that mean at 1 week= dangerously mean when big. So I culled him. I don't personally tolerate ANY mean birds.
