I had to take them out of the incubator, as one had the cord wrapped around it's leg and it was creating close to a dime sized hernia (no thanks to it's already hatched sibling for spinning it's egg all over the place while this one was trying to hatch), that would pop out even more with each distressing cheep. After I snipped the cord lose, I gently pushed the hernia in and put a band aid over it to hold it in place and the poult doesn't seem to be in distress anymore. It's the one in the bottom of the picture, dozing off. Hopefully it will be even better by morning....
. I hope mine do well and hatch out well. I hope your poult is doing good by tomorrow!!![]()
Hmmm. I have 2 turkey poults right now who are almost 2 weeks old. They've been doing AWESOME! This morning I get up and 1 is all weak, and cannot even stand up on its own! I've given sugar water, since I do not have any electrolytes, and Poly Vi Sol without Iron. Idk what happened. Never had 1 get sickly acting any later than a few days after hatch.
Oh, no! I do hope it makes it!![]()
The past few days I've been reading through some of the posts about new poults and now I'm starting to wonder what I've gotten myself in to. Are they really that delicate and hard to raise?
I've already fallen in love with these, and I don't want to lose even one. And it would be even worse to lose any once they start developing their own personalities...
