Turkey Talk for 2014

Update on my weird poult who keeps crashing. They've been in the grow out pen for a week (or 2?). He was holding his own, but unsteady on his feet and would eat by stabbing the food and throwing his head back to swallow, like a heron. Today, I realized, I couldn't tell which one he was. He's acting completely normal. I still wonder if he was too chilly in the house. The ac isn't on very cold, but does blow that way when it's on. Who knows?

Is anyone having trouble getting daily email notifications on the BYC subscriptions? Mine have stopped completely.

I am getting everyday.

Within 15 minutes of posting this, I got a notification on my subscriptions. That's pretty good service!

Hey there turkey peeps! This is our first year with turkeys, so I'm a bit of a newbie. We are having trouble with aggression. The male turkeys were ganging up on my chicken hens, so I separated the turkeys into their own pen. Today one of my male turkeys had the tar beat out of him. His whole head was swollen and bleeding. I was saw a smaller poult pecking him non stop. He is now blue coted and quarantined. Is this normal?

They have to establish pecking order or during mating season they will fight over hens if there are to many toms in the mix.
