Turkey Talk for 2014

I want eggs for sex-linked and I want them to hatch next week!!!
I do fine waiting, provided everything happens when I want it to.

Seriously! I'm with you! how am I supposed to wait till March 20th for this hatch... I hope something hatches... it will just be that much sweeter!

What is "scrying"?
I thought it said "crying" at first. lol silly me; I've been looking at my computer screen too long. lol

Yeah!
I'm still waiting for eggs.
My friend is giving some to me. I think we're still waiting for them to start laying, then she's going to collect for two weeks before we start hatching any, so I have a while to wait.
What was that we were saying about waiting?????

I was told if I breed my Narri Tom to Bronze hen the poults would be sex linked. Female/Narri & Male/Red Bronze. Looks like I will have all Red Bronze because the BR tom is dominant. The DH has really thrown a kink into it by replacing g the bronze hen I lost with a Slate Blue. Who knows what I will get with that mix.

I am new at turkeys and have fallen head over heels with them. I have a trio of white holland and a trio of blue slate. They have been breeding for about a week now. When do they start laying eggs? I can't wait to hatch a few out. ;-)

I read I think on Porters website as well as something on Frank Reese's book I believe that only the Narragansett is auto sexting or you can feather sex the poults. But I dont think there are many others that are if I recall right. Amazon has some e-books on turkey that I read and downloaded last year that has alot of turkey info in them. But on my Narragansett's when I did try to feather sex my poult's, I found my last one to be a jenny her wing feathers were just like the chicken feathers for a pullet.
