My new self blue babies!!! They hatched on the 12th of Feb. They are really growing!

So sweet! What variety of turkey is the poult?

Thanks everyone! It is a mix. Its parents were also mixes, but have pure bourbon red and royal palm in their ancestry a couple of generations back. The mother was this hen (each one of my hens lays eggs with unique speckle patterns, so I can tell which egg came from which hen)

and this was the father, most likely, as he is the dominant boy.

I got a pair of RPs last night!

Oh!!! So pretty!! I want a RP hen! Sed me one! Lol

I didn't test fertility, but I got my 5th egg from my girl... whoever it is... today. The first was froze and the other 4 jsut went into my incubator. Yeah, the poult/s will more than likely be Narragansett mixes, but who cares?! They are turkeys and I am anxious!

My babies get here on the 26th. So jealous of all the baby picts on-line. I've been to the supply store three times and have resisted "just a few more"!

This is my 31 pounder I cooked on the 6th. I have one more 19 pounder to last till I can fill the freezer again.

First Heritage BR egg TODAY!!!!! Of course infertile... Thats ok.
At least I know know the hen lays! He was NOT happy for me messing in the nest but they are confined.
My 2 younger BR are not laying yet, oldest poult was june, then august for the 2nd.
I have fake eggs, leave one take one... He was sure drumming and gobbling, I told him... pretty boy!!!!
ETA: SQWeeeeeeeel!! So excited to finally see her lay!!!!!

They are adorable

First turkey poult of the year hatched! It has four mothers, 3 silkies and a silkie/OEGB cross who all share the clutch. There are 7 more to go. Most are due in another week. Within the next few days, I'll take a broody out and put her with the poults that have already hatched so they can start being raised while the rest are still incubating. My 13 in my homemade incubator are on day 7, and also developing nicely.

How sweet! Lucky little one who gets 4 mom's?
