This list isn't updated for Ohio, nor is it accurate. It has our farm listed under 2 different addresses, neither of which is right, and under my maiden name at a very old address & now under my husband's name at another old address. You can't rely on these either. They are only as accurate as the states bother to make them.

I guess it could be true. I was NPIP in GA and have not been since moving back to PA and I am no longer on the list which has been 1 1/2 years since I am back so it would depend on the state however I would hope they would update at least yearly.

there are very few sellers on eBay who have ever sent me their NPIP papers... so when I actually do receive paperwork I'm a bit beyond shocked...

So as frustrating as your situation is, think of the money you spent as the tuition for a class about online fraud, and be glad it was so (relatively) inexpensive. If you decide to buy eggs online in the future and want them from NPIP stock, you should request that a copy of the NPIP certification be sent before you buy, and then verify its authenticity with the state office (because a lot of the certificates will be fakes). (Wow, I am jaded!) You can also request pictures of the parent stock prior to purchase. While you can't guarantee that the pictures are actually of the birds that the seller owns, if you look at the pictures and if you don't like what you see than you can avoid stock that doesn't meet your standards. The nice thing about e-bay is that there are previous buyers always giving feedback. If someone has been selling eggs for a long time and the vast majority of feedback says things like "well packed" or "excellent hatch rate" or "the quality of birds were outstanding," then you've probably got a great supplier. That's a lot more information, from actual buyers, then you get on other web sites.


Don't apologize. I am a Graphic Designer and with the right training (self-tutorials are available) in the right computer programs you can fake official documents. Watch for pixelated poor quality emblems and logos. I have the capability of faking those but they take 8 to 16 hours apiece to do it well without pixelation. Most casual crooks are too lazy to do that kind of work for a meager payoff. Instead they snatch a rasterized (pixelated) cut and paste image and drop it in the fake document. It prints fuzzy. If accepting a document via internet never trust one under 300 dpi (dots per inch). That is the minimum printing standard and anything under that was likely snatched off the internet at 72 dpi (the standard screen display).

When I gave him a negative feedback eBay removed it! If they can remove what ever feedback they want it is not an honest judgement of the seller.

Pay attention to the feedback percentage vs. the number of sales and their star color which is a quick glance guide to how many transactions they have participated in. The higher the number of transactions the more accurate the feedback percentage. The feedback system is slanted toward the sellers. You are subtlely encouraged to leave a positive review. If you are only mildly annoyed it is likely that you will still only leave a positive feedback instead of a neutral or negative one. If you see someone selling something you like, before you buy contact the seller and open a conversation with them about their birds. You can get a better idea from conversing with them if they are blowing smoke or are the genuine thing. I follow sellers that I am interested in and watch how their sales run, when they sell, what they sell, their feedbacks and if I am getting serious about ordering from them send the a message asking more about their birds. It is a lot of work but better than wasting my time playing Facebook games.

Day 28 for Turkey and Geese eggs... 4/5 goose eggs look good, air cell not completely where I feel it should be but I wont really start worrying til its day 30-31... Turkey eggs are rocking and rolling

... Was alittle worried as I thought they would be out today, but since the chicken eggs were a day or so late I wont start worrying until tomorrow night..

So in the end this is what made it to lockdown 4/6 Goose eggs I have left the 5th one in but don't believe it will make it, its moving but there is ALOT of fluid

7/17 Turkey eggs.... Had some clears and some quitters, found another quitter this morning , opened it up and I'll guess day 18 or so...

1/2 Chicken eggs Both were malpositioned and very large...went against my own rule and assisted, one last night is up and running and in the brooder, the other this morning...Died about an hour ago.. Opened up the shell completely (I had only allowed it a breathing hole) and its yolk sack was ruptured.. I ended up running to the feed store and getting a few friends for the lone chick.. 2 BA's and 2 Cochin..

In Pming with Yinepu a few times I believe my humidity was too high, which slowed down air cells but caused the chicks to be extra large...Crossing fingers for the turkeys and geese..

2nd incubator has 16 Turkey eggs and 6 chicken eggs that have made it to day 18.. Air cells are EXACTLY where they should be and will candle again on day 20.. running a dry hatch in that incubator.. it is steady at around 33% give or take a few degrees and temps are holding at 99.5... I will be getting the fan kit for my incubator.. I have seen a huge difference between the two..

My 2 babies are getting so big, so fast. They are a month old now, I let them free range for about an hr and they were chasing a leaf all over, it was quite amusing. Started working on their run today and their coop next week. How old before they go outside? The BBW is alot bigger than the BBB, is it cuz of the breeds or is 1 a tom and 1 a hen maybe?

The whites get bigger than the bronze, but it could definitely be a hen & tom as well making the difference even more.
