Day 26 eggs today, went into lockdown last night. I OFFICIALLY have my VERY FIRST EVER PIP!!!!!!!!! temp is 98.7 and 70% humidity. I could hear it peeping too, so COOL! So eggcited! After the pip it's 12-24+ hours right?

The BR were roosting for the night! They had been sleeping on the floor at the beginning of the nights. My chicks didn.t learn this fast!

What is the best thing to feed a turkey when a baby n then as a adult

Baby turkeys (poults) need a high protein feed such as turkey or game bird starter with at least 26% protein content. As the poults mature, they will not need as high of a protein content . The turkey game bird starter that I use is 28% protein. The turkey grower that I use is 24% protein.

Once the turkeys are mature, any quality feed that is at least 16% protein will work well. As adults I prefer to feed pellets since I believe there is less waste than with crumbles. There are also those who believe in fermented feed as being the best option and having the least amount of waste. I assume that you mean soy beans. You should use the search function at the top of the page to research this topic. I recently came across a post in another forum about a soy bean product and cannot remember what the warning to be careful about when using soy beans for poultry feed. I do recall that there was something mentioned that was not good.

This is my 1st time doing turkey's for us to eat. I have 1 bbb and 1 bbw. They are almost 8 wks old now. I've had them in the garage and off heat for 2 weeks now. Will they be ok to put outside in their pen now? I also let them free range with the other animals during the day, can I keep doing this or will they not put on enough weight by the holidays? Thanks
