I thought I posted a question earlier, but I don't see it.

I have a chance to purchase 4 ladies and a Tom that the person had said that they have hatched eggs from for 2 years. Is that about the end of a turkeys egg laying days, or do you think they will make good breeders still?

My friend is still hatching from 6-8 yr old turkeys. They have several good years left.

I am very excited about hatching some turkey eggs this year! RIght now I only have two hens laying but soon the rest will follow.
I got the bator filled and hatching will start the 3rd. Can hardly wait.

I am so jealous of all of you that have hens laying already!

I know it will be 3 months before I get my first egg of the year....

and those will be frozen if I do not get them out of the nest fast.

I don't expect eggs until late March/early April.

Thinking of processing a few Toms this weekend, cant decide though if I want them to grow out a little bit longer or not, they are only 6months old. Im tired of feeding extra Toms though so this weekend might be the time.
