Turkey Talk for 2014

Brat! I knew they were occasionally escaping, but I didn't think they were flying over the 6' fence. There's not much take off room, so it's almost straight up. I know they can fly, but I didn't think a 9 week old could get that much height without more take off room. Rescued one from a cockerel this morning. The chicken was standing on him with both feet and pecking the snot out of him. The cockerel never saw me coming. He went for an unscheduled flight as well. I didn't hurt him, but he was surprised. I guess I'll be extending the fence to the roof.
That's kind of funny. They do like to escape when ever they get a chance.

I have had to use some 12" chicken wire around the tops of some pens to close up the gaps here to.

Our handsome fella Chirpy. To bad our female Keven is being such a B****! She keeps attacking him.I don't even want to take pictures of her. She makes me so mad.

12 week old Beautiful Bronze :)

He is very beautiful. At 12 weeks they are still working on sorting out the pecking order. My hens keep the toms away from me so they can have all the attention and treats. They are a little bossy that way. lol

The smaller one always does the puffed up dance and has a longer thing on his head. And the other one is bigger and I've never seen her do the dance. This is my first time raising any kind of birds I just assumed the female was bigger than the male.

guess I need to do some research. I don't want them fighting Constantly like this. It has been very hot here, hotter than we're used to. I guess I also just assumed they were being nasty to each other because it was hot.
