Yea, it should be ok. Any problem with the hatching? Do you know why there aren't any feathers?
I guess it hatched ok, I came home from work and there it was, so ugly it's cute. I have no idea why it has no feathers, it does have some on the body though.

okay, I have a question. Does your guy's turkey hens, well, pull at your tom's beards? It's my hens favorite hobby. They'll lay beside each other and she'll just pluck away at his stubby, baby beard. Is she somehow helping it grow out of his skin? Is there some sort of attraction to beards with hens? Or is my hen just OCD and bothers the tom? He actually doesn't seem to mind it. It seems to actually excite him somewhat, he'll toss his head to the side with his snood all droopy and his tail fanned and just let her have at his beard. It's a bit strange

hahaha That's very funny. I don't know why and anything that I could comment, I shouldn't write. Maybe someone else has had experience.

this is kinda what it looks like the red ring.... not all of them have it but the others are all just black blobs.... I dont know if its just because of my crappy flashlight I cant see whats going on in there or ...there blood rings.....

Quote: She has been jailed every day since ID'd-- penned by herself. No more eggs broken. Not sure why she is doing this. Plenty of layer pellets, crushed egg shells added, free ranging with some grass still available. Has me stumped. Broken eggs are an annoying mess--

Josh-- I have heard two peices of advice on blood rings, which I think this is: lett them incubated longer and re-evaluate as sometimes they are just fine; another opinion is pull the egg. I let the egg continue along just in case. WHat I have noticed is that soe blood rings are far more noticable, with thicker rings of blood, but I have not determined if this is a determining factor in viability. Just an observation at this point.
