Turner VS. hand turning??

Although I would agree the turner is better than getting up at night . I get accustomed to getting up to turn eggs. I have a large chest freezer made in to an incubator . I just put the pen or color # on one side and date on the other. Hatching is great and I have always done it this way. Sometimes they roll but I just put them back into place. Its like having a baby all over again and getting up at night.

I hand turn my goose eggs, once every 12 hours (twice a day). Depending on how full the incubator is it can take up to 10 minutes, so it's kinda like a "cool down". I spray the eggs with water usually everytime I turn. I only candle until later in the incubation, I can't see those little subtle differences that take place every day or few days. I just wait until close to the hatch anybody clear goes, everybody dark stays. I also don't "lock down", everybody does it different, whatever works best for you is the right choice.

Thanks everybody for the very useful information

These are all toulouse and chinese crosses, from my first geese. We sold them as a flock to be an alarm system for a very large chicken farm. They also sell their eggs for eating, which we supply to them as well.
