Tutorial on packing eggs

I thought so too but, couldn't find it. I think with those links it's pretty well covered though.

You should sticky this thread and then the links will be there for future questions.

This is great info! I bubble-wrap each egg too but instead of using egg cartons, I put them in a DHL bubble pack bag. I add packing peanuts and pine shavings between each egg. I layer the bottom of the box with more packing peanuts and shavings, lay the bag in, then more peanuts and shavings around and on top.

The other post was correct in not writing "fragile/eggs" on them because those boxes tend to get mis-handled more than "fragile/glass".

Our mailman also told us that when the mail comes in, the boxes are tossed into bins by area, regardless of whether it says fragile or not. They "try" to toss the bigger boxes in first but there's no guarantee. He suggested sending by certified priority mail because they are more careful with certified and WALK it to the bin. Again, no guarantee that a heavier package won't be tossed on top of it, but at least the box itself isn't tossed.

Hope this helps -
Cindy

Does anyone think this is a "sticky worthy" topic?

Do I remember a post from MissPrissy in which she was unpacking a shipment that she had received and showing how great the eggs were wrapped? Or have I totally lost my mind? (which wouldn't surprise me in the least.)

I think my method of stuffing 40 in an 81/2x11 box is one of the cheaper and simpler methods. klf73 took some pictures of the eggs I sent her and their packing about a month ago, and posted them, I thought in Hatching Eggs BST, but I couldn't find them.

sorry I don't have any of them being unwrapped

but I do believe there were 2 pieces of bubble wrap per egg (Gary?), one in each direction so all sides were protected

I have to say this was the smallest box I eggs I received, most eggs in a box, heaviest box, and had no damage.
