Hi! I am new here and am looking to gather as much information as I can 😬 I am incubating Runner Duck eggs and on day 13 of candling I realised I had twins....each within their own sac....we are now on day 24....what would U recommend to do when it comes to hatching....I understand this whole scenario is bittersweet but we have got this far and if we can get through the next few days I would like to do all I can to try and help them if they reach hatching. Should I make a safety hole in the air sac? If so when....and how will I know if one is facing the wrong way? I’m guessing if it tries to pip I may see shadowing on the egg shell? This is my first experience of incubating and was not expecting to have twins by any means! Any advice will be much appreciated! 😊

Wow! Awesome! Can you post a candling pic? I'd love to see. I really hope they make it! We'll figure out what to do as it comes. You can't do anything until one of both are really shadowing in the air cell or best case scenario both internally pip. Super exciting, fingers crossed!

I assisted a guinea keet in hatching (not really assisted, more like did everything). That never internally pipped. I opened the air cell, "internally pipped it" by putting a tiny hole in the membranes so it could breathe, rubbed oil on the membrane every couple hours, kept humidity high, and once the veins were all receded and it wasn't yawning anymore, I helped it out. She's still here, and will turn 1 in a month. It's not too hard. You just have to have patience and a gentle hand.

Hi! I have a great video but don’t k ow how or if I can post it on here.....these are candling pictures 😍

When candling tonight I can see shadowing on the airsac membrane.....and movement (which obviously is brilliant!)
