Two rescue chicks; What breed??

Get them a coop. Build one, buy one, but get them a coop somehow. Next make sure they have a feeder and feed. You would need Starter/Grower feed. Get them a waterer as well. Block off the nesting boxes until they start laying. Make sure neither of them are hurt! I would personally give them a dust bath as well. Make sure they get TLC!!!

I'm contemplating adding a Silkie rooster, so I've been researching them -- folks told me that they don't fly (or don't fly *well*), but like to roost on the floor.

We have a ramp up to our roosts, and will be building something lower for our New Kid (a warm box filled with pine shavings? a lower roost?) too. That might be something to consider if you have high roosts.

Experienced Silkie owners, please chime in with how your Silkies sleep!
