So I live in the UK, 1-2 of my adopted hens has respiratory problems and it sounds like an infection, I need Tylan for them but I can't get a prescription as the vets locally are asking for a lot ( cheapest was £50 consoltation only),I am on low income and the hens are to help distract my father who has dementia. Where can I buy or import some ??

Where abouts in UK are you? The bhwt website has a list of chicken friendly vets. There is a serious lack of poultry vets in UK. Tylan soluble is about £30 for 100g. You will need a prescription for it as it is an antibiotic. But it is best you see a vet to know for sure that is what you need.

London, pdsa and blueX wouldnt even see me, all others I phoned gave a £50-70 range just to examine but the rest is another fee , buying the meds I wouldn't mind as then I can treat all , but if I go for consultation I know I will struggle with the rest.
