I have been breaking ice caps in the mornings. Tomorrow will be 3 days in a row. In the south it never goes 3 to 4 days in a row.. I feel your pain. Thank goodness I can only feel it in periodic intervals... lolYou know it is winter when your chooks are sleeping by the heater all day...

When it first started to get really cold, the ducks had a pool of water from the previous day. Was iced over, had to break it. Hose has ice inside as of today, so no filling pool, ducks are super unhappy. (Wouldn’t let them swim in weather this cold, anyway..)I have been breaking ice caps in the mornings. Or when you're not getting any eggs because your birds have turned into grumpy soccerballs until spring.Also when you have to keep on your toes to get your eggs into a REFRIGERATOR to keep them from freezing!
That's why our store's shelf stock is empty of HEATERS, JACKETS, THERMAL UNDERWEAR.. etc.. WE ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO HAVE THIS. We do have an occasional 14 to 22*, but not a week straight..You're the people that deal with 100*F every summer![]()
